EPIC 2014 and EPIC 2015 are basically flash animation videos that contain somewhat called 'predictions' that are 'going' to happen on the internet business. EPIC 2015 (updated version of EPIC 2014) shows how the internet-based search engines and mediascapes would evolve and breed all these new random internet services and systems.

having watched these 2 EPIC clips - it does make me think about what's right or wrong. which one to believe and not to believe. but it’s really hard to choose and decide when the information that are presented before us are pretty convincing – and might end up being true. at first i really bought all the ‘facts’ that they have mentioned on the video simply because the graphics are good and the way they presented it is quite convincing and at some stage very persuasive.

Newsbotster ranks and sorts news, based on what each user’s friends and colleagues are reading and viewing and it allows everyone to comment on what they see.” (Summary Of The World: Googlezon And The Newsmasters EPIC, 2004)

without the graphics, it’s evident that this statement is not true. of course, it is possible for someone to create the Newsbotster – but wouldn’t it change or modify the use and purpose of the internet news? actually, what is the original purpose of having an internet news access? okay, now i can see both the advantages and disadvantages (easy access, interactions, social isolation, rapid news spread, etc.). but isn’t it all because of some people’s greed for money that breaks the whole purpose apart? people are more money driven for the last century and they seem to have forgotten about the basic values in life. money is important and perhaps the most important thing in life – but it’s not everything. some smart people created this automatic system that replace the human minds. yes, that is another virtual advancements in digital or virtual technology, but how has it affect us as a society? look at how they combined and mix each other and how they create the convergence between news engines and buy one another. isn’t it just all about money?

so – since everyone has the possibility of buying to everything that has a deceiving but convincing media production or presentation, how about the current e-news websites? no one would know if someone have created the Newsbotster and is operating right this moment. how about the news that we’re reading every now and then are made-ups? of course, it would be hard to believe and to be answered – but what if? it is a possibility after all.

or maybe all the statements that were stated on this clip were all true and will actually happen in 2014. how about if these people, who created the clips, are actually going to be the ones who make it all happen? which may result another internet society outbreak? and say that people has been very critical about believing the media, and they chose not to believe what has been said on EPIC 2014 and EPIC 2015 – and suddenly everything that was predicted on the movie started to come to reality – wouldn’t it make them even more confused? they thought that being critical will lead them into the truth – but, it doesn’t end up that way. so what to believe? what’s the norm? there must be a distinct line to anything – the norm. but what is the norm when everything is possible and comparative?
